Studio interior at Regang Bangsar
OUR STORY

Built around the idea that ease is worth practising

Regang began as a small project in Bangsar — a studio where people could come and spend an hour simply attending to how their body feels.

WHO WE ARE

Regang

Regang — the Malay word for stretching, extending, reaching outward — opened in Bangsar in 2019 as a small, deliberately quiet studio. The founders, Nurul and Faizal, had both worked for years in environments that moved very fast, and they wanted to create somewhere that moved differently.

The studio is not a fitness centre, and it's not a spa. It sits somewhere in between — a space for movement education, for paying attention, for gradually learning what your body does and doesn't need. Sessions run in small groups, and the pace is always intentional.

We work with people at all stages: those who have never done anything structured before, those returning to movement after a long break, and those who already move regularly but want to add something quieter to their week. There's no performance expected here — just showing up.

Our Direction

To make gentle movement education accessible to people in Kuala Lumpur — not as a luxury, but as something ordinary and sustainable.

What We Value

Patience over intensity. Understanding over imitation. A session that leaves you feeling more informed about your own body is a good session.

Long-Term View

We're not interested in quick changes or dramatic outcomes. We believe steady, low-pressure practice builds something that actually lasts.

HOW WE WORK

Standards we hold ourselves to

Safe, considered environments

Sessions are run in a tidy, well-ventilated space. Props and mats are cleaned between uses. Group sizes are kept small to allow for individual attention.

Ongoing professional learning

Our facilitators regularly attend workshops and update their knowledge. We don't think of our approach as fixed — it evolves as we learn.

Honest framing of what we offer

We describe our sessions as movement education and general information — not as regulated services. We won't make claims we can't stand behind.

Data handled with care

We collect only what we need to manage bookings and communicate with participants. We don't share your details with third parties for marketing.

Open to feedback

We ask participants how sessions feel and take that seriously. The studio is shaped by the people who come through it as much as by the people who run it.

Community-minded

Regang is a neighbourhood studio. We care about being a genuine part of Bangsar, not just operating from it.

Movement education in Kuala Lumpur

Regang operates at the intersection of gentle movement, body awareness, and practical education. Based in Bangsar — one of Kuala Lumpur's most established neighbourhoods — the studio serves a wide range of people: those working long desk hours, those who simply want to feel less stiff, those curious about how their body works, and those who've tried more intensive options and found them exhausting.

Our sessions cover a range of slow, considered stretching approaches. A drop-in is a good entry point — just one session, easy to try. The coaching block is appropriate for anyone who'd like more structure and a routine that carries over into daily life. The membership is for those who want something ongoing — sessions throughout the year, seasonal updates, and the flexibility of the video library.

We're on Lorong Maarof in Bangsar, a short walk from the LRT. Parking is available on nearby streets. Sessions run on weekdays and Saturday mornings. To find out about upcoming availability or to ask any questions, the easiest way is to call or send a message through the contact form on our homepage.

Come and see what it's like

A single drop-in session is a low-key way to get a feel for the space and the pace. No prior experience needed.
